The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day was “I am generation equality: Realizing Women’s Rights”. According to United Nations, Generation Equality is defined as bringing together people of every gender, age, ethnicity, race, religion and country, to drive actions that will create the gender-equal world we all deserve.

A major part of a woman’s life is her Workplace and she needs an inclusive environment for job satisfaction. In fact, studies have shown that companies with highest representation of women on boards financially outperform companies with lowest representation of women on boards.

At Policybazaar, when we talk about diversity, both men and women in the organization work towards encouraging gender neutrality at all levels. Our leadership strongly believes in creating equal opportunity irrespective of any biases.

Chetna Gogia, head, human resources at Policybazaar says, “Women play a vital role and have a significant place in the company. We have a good ratio of women leaders in the company at various roles, starting from Investor handling to business and support roles. This clearly shows how we have more women in Leadership roles.”

Gogia further explains that we promote a welcoming culture at Policybazaar.

“Creating more opportunities for women starts with creating a more inclusive environment. Any specific efforts to recruit women at leadership roles in any company bears fruit only if they are encouraged to take decisions,” she adds.

Promoting equality among our workforce

Equality can be promoted at workplace by giving equal opportunities and fair treatment to all irrespective of their gender, race, religion, sexuality or ethinicity.

“At Policybazaar, we have people of all backgrounds who come together and achieve success,” says Gogia.

Hiring Practices – We ensure that during the hiring process we prevent unconscious bias. We also ensure managers use objective criteria to evaluate any candidate.

Equality policies in place - Everyone at Policybazaar is treated fairly in all day-to-day activities and work-related decisions (recruitment, training, promotion, allocating work, pay, etc.). We embrace people's differences to ensure a more diverse workforce.

Mind your language – We ensure all our communications are free of discriminatory and sexist language and we have zero tolerance for any Manager or anyone at any level using the same.

The power of your voice at PB

Let’s hear about the inclusive practices at Policybazaar from women themselves working here:

Aarti Goyal, head of travel insurance, says “Policybazaar is very dynamic as a workplace. We don’t have a closed door culture. The best part about this place is that all the voices are heard.”

“I am happy with the work culture at Policybazaar because I am able to voice my concerns and opinions openly. People are open mined when it comes to taking constructive feedback,” says Reman Singh, Senior Product Manager at Policybazaar.
