The year is coming to an end, and everyone is getting into a celebratory mood to welcome 2023. Owing to this spirit and adding to the cheerfulness of employees, PolicyBazzar announced the 5th edition of its Talent Hunt. The fun competition strives to provide a platform to showcase the skills of the workers beyond their work.
"The Talent Hunt is a much-anticipated activity among PB employees. It brings together the employees across Paisabazaar & Policybazaar to unite and come together as one big team. Based on the trend, we have noticed an increase in energy and participation levels year after year, which clearly demonstrates the popularity of this contest," said Puneet Khurana, Head of Human Resources at PolicyBazaar.com.
The contest that started in 2017 aimed to bring together various teams across PB while also boosting engagement and getting to know people outside the framework of their jobs. It is also a way to improve camaraderie and appreciate the true personalities of people.
It starts with employees filing for participation in 4 different categories- singing, dancing, dramatics, and instrumental. Following this, the audition process is divided into 11 rounds, with participants advancing to the quarterfinals, semi-finals, and grand finale. To make it exciting, the winners of each stage are awarded exciting prizes. This year the semi-finalists won Alexa, while the bumper prize for the finalists was Vespa,MAC,TV. The top three finishers in each category received Vespa,MAC,TV, respectively, as their reward.
"During my growing-up years, singing was always a passion. But, with time, it took a back seat. Thus, when the PB Talent Hunt was announced, I got excited as it allowed me to display my hobby in front of the entire staff. This was my first time participating in the PB Talent Hunt, and I have to admit that though it was competitive, it was fun. Fortunately, I won the competition. I want to thank Policybazaar for hosting this event annually on such a large scale and inspiring people to participate," said Anshpreet Singh, the Grand Finale winner.
"When the PB Talent Hunt was announced, I was so excited as it gave me a chance to demonstrate my love for singing to everyone. The entire experience of competing against some talented people has been fantastic. It also gave me an opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. Even though I didn't win this year, it was still wonderful to make it to the semi-finals, and I will continue to partake each year," said Sandeep from the PaisaBazaar team.
"PolicyBazaar is a company where talent, be it professional or personal, is recognized. The seniors are very supportive and nurturing, which in turn helps a person's overall growth. Adding to this, the incentive structure is motivating, which boosts me to push my limits and give my best to the company," added Anshpreet, who belongs to the Tech, Corp and POSP teams and has been with the organization for 1.3years.
The second runner-up for season 5 was Lijin Mathew from the Mumbai branch, who gave tough competition to Anshpreet in singing, while the third runner-up was Gagan Verma from the Gurugram branch, who exhibited his talent in dramatics.
Talking about winning and their experience as an organization, both the runners-up said in unison, "We have grown as individuals and professionals in PolicyBazaar. The company has an appreciative and supportive work culture, and this transcends not only to work but also timely fun events organized by the company."
Employees were ecstatic about the event and the arrangements, be it decor, lighting, food and more, size and organization, as well as the opportunity to do something outside of work.
