As per the guidelines are given by Reserve Bank of India on 2017 January, it is mandatory for all four credit information bureaus of India to provide one free credit report and credit score every year. Along with TransUnion, the other credit information bureaus of India are:

  • Highmark
  • Experian
  • Equifax 

However, the steps to get TransUnion CIBIL score and report for free once in a year are:

  • Go to the website of TransUnion CIBIL
  • Enter username and password
  • Provide your email address, full name, and phone number.
  • Click the ‘Submit' button
  • Provide your Date of Birth and details of PAN card. 

The coming page offers different paid subscriptions, for example, if you want more than one CIBIL reports in a year, etc. However, if your requirement is only free and onetime credit report and score, then click ‘No Thanks’ button provided at the bottom of the page. 

Your account is created and you get a message of confirmation on the following page. 

Now you can sign in easily by using your user name and password generated in the first step. 

The next step is to authenticate/ verify you. You will get an email on your registered email id. Click on the link that is mentioned in this mail and gives the one time password mentioned in the mail. After completion, you will be asked to change the password and then try to login again. 

Upon login, you will see some of the details such as an address, name, etc. These details will automatically be prompted on your screen. However, you have to provide your phone number. 

As soon as you click ‘Submit’ you will be able to see the dashboard with TransUnion CIBIL score. You can get the credit report also on the dashboard.
