Italy Work visa is a legal authorization that allows a foreign national to travel to Italy to work or take up a job. Foreigners with this visa can work in this European country for an Italian organisation, Italy-based branch of the current organisation or start their own business in the country. How to Apply for Italy Work Visa from India?

The procedure to apply for an Italy Work visa for Indians is very simple. Foreign citizens can apply for this visa offline by submitting their visa applications at the nearest Visa Application Centre (VAC) of VFS Global Services. This is because VFS Global officially accepts all applications for Italy Work visa on behalf of the Italian Embassy in India. Moreover, it also handles other services such as collecting visa fees, returning back the passport of the applicants, etc. under the guidelines of the Embassy of Italy.

Following are the steps that an applicant needs to follow in order to apply for an Italy Work visa for Indians:

  • Visit the official website of VFS Global Services for Italy
  • Go to the ‘Apply for a visa’ option in the menu bar
  • Select ‘Ready to apply’ tab and click on the ‘apply now’ option
  • Choose the type of Italy visa that you want to apply
  • Click on the ‘Application Forms’ tab and download the visa application form
  • Go back to the home page and select ‘book an appointment’ tab on the menu bar
  • Schedule an appointment with the nearest Visa Application Centre (VAC) of VFS Global that covers your city of residence under its jurisdiction

Documents Required to Apply for Italy Work Visa for Indians

All applicants of work visa for Italy are required to submit a few documents in support of their visa applications. Here is a list of all the documents that an applicant of Italy Work visa for Indians will have to submit at the time of applying:

  • Passport of the applicant which has a minimum of two blank pages and three months of validity from the expected date of visa expiry. The passport should not be more than 10 years old
  • Visa application form for Italy Work visa, duly filled and signed by the applicant
  • Two recent passport size picture of the applicant
  • Proof of sufficient funds to afford the trip to Italy such as bank statements, salary slips, etc.
  • Valid medical travel insurance or international health insurance which is valid all Schengen countries
  • Certificate of polio vaccination confirming that the applicant was vaccinated between four weeks and 12 months before commencing his trip to Italy (For applicants who have stayed for over four weeks in Pakistan, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Kenya, Congo, Somalia or Syria)
  • Directorate’s division for show business or by the Special Labour Office

Employment Visa

  • Copy of authorization for dependent work issued by a competent Labour Provincial Directorate in the last six months and authorized by the competent police authority
  • Letter of undertaking by the applicant’s employer confirming the applicant’s return back to India after his work contract expires
  • Educational qualifications to support the professional skills of the applicant
  • Clearance Certificate from the Immigration Desk allowing the applicant to work in Italy

Self-Employment Visa

  • Original copy of the authorization for work issued by a competent Labour Provincial

Italy Work Visa Fees

Each applicant of Italy Work visa for Indians is required to pay a visa fee at the time of submitting their visa application. Unless the applicant pays the visa fees, his visa application procedure remains incomplete. All applicants have to pay a visa fee of 116 Euros to complete their visa application process.

Additionally, the applicant has to pay a VFS Global service charge of Rs 496 at the time of submitting their visa application. They also have to pay a convenience fee of Rs 166 to VFS Global Services.

Moreover, people can also avail walk-in-service at VFS Global Visa Application Centre if they do not have any prior appointment by paying Rs 2650.

Applicants of Italy Work visa can pay their visa fees using a demand draft (DD). The DD must be drawn in the favour of ‘VFS Global Services Private Limited’ and should be payable at the city where they will be submitting their visa application.
