Hi Chetana, thanks for reaching out. No, you cannot purchase travel insurance after leaving India. Even on the day of their journey, most insurers do not allow travelers to purchase insurance.

Most of the travel insurance products that are being offered today offered coverage for COVID - both for hospitalisation and interruption of plans. There are specific conditions (on countries, pre existing conditions and nature of treatments) and limits that one needs to be aware of and an advisor can help you understand the same once specific information of travel destination and dates are known.
