Bharat Griha Raksha Policy is a standardized home insurance plan that provides your building and content coverage against fire and a wide range of both natural and manmade perils including cyclone, flood, earthquake, landslide, riots, terrorism, water tank burst, pipe or automatic sprinker linkage, etc. The guidelines of this plan have been issued under IRDAI. The policy also cover contents of your home upto 20% of the sum insured (upto a max. limit of Rs. 10 lac), even having to declare the contents' details. Additionally, if a theft were to occur within 7 days of any of the specified events (e.g., while you leave your home open to firefighters in case of a fire, or a theft during a riot breakout), the insuance company would cover the cost of lost contents/ repairs to the house due the theft.
