How to transfer insurance without any affect in no claim bonus
Hi Danish, thanks for your question. While your NCB can be transferred when you purchase insurance for a new car for yourself, NCB cannot be transferred in case of transfer of ownership of the car to another person. This is so because NCB is an incentive to the driver for careful driving and not making any claims. It is not granted to the vehicle.
If you are buying a new car and want to transfer the NCB to this new car's insurance, and buying insurance online, the new insurer will themselves transfer the NCB from the old insurer to the new policy if you provide them with the following details: :
1. Old policy number
2. Correct NCB
3. Name of the previous insurer
