I am planning to buy a health insurance for my parents . My father who is the eldest member dosent have any pre exisiting illness , that being said we havent done a proper health checkup , so should we do a health checkup before applying ?
Hi Omkar, thanks for reaching out. There are various health insurance plans designed pecifically for senior citizens, in addition to the regular comprehensive health plans that can also be availed by 60+ year olds depending on their health condition.
You can definitely go for a health check-up for your parents before you decide whether to go for regular comprehensive policy (if your parents do not have any pre-existing diseases) or a senior citizen plan (if they are diagnosed with any pre-existing disease). An alternative is to select the plan that you find most suitable right now and apply. Most insurers will anyway have your parents go through a health check before they decide on whether to issue the policy and the policy terms, given your parent's age.
We have arranged a callback for you from one of our health insurance advisors to help you make a decision regarding this based on your specific requirement. They shall connect with you in the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, you can check out various available plans here: Health Insurance
