I want to know if there is any health insurance with zero waiting period for pre-existing diseases?
Hello Avinash, thanks for writing in. Health insurance policies have different waiting periods for different types of claims. Overall, there is a waiting period of 1 month for any claim except for accidental cases (if covered under your policy). For specific diseases such as hernia, ENT ailments, and osteoporosis, there is a waiting period of 1-2 years (as mentioned in your policy terms). If you have declared any pre-existing diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc., there is a waiting period of 1 to 4 years (based on your policy terms) to claim treatment for those diseases. In plans that cover maternity benefits, typically, there is a waiting period of 9 months to 3 years before a maternity claim can be made.
