The following documents are required for Raheja QBE Health Insurance portability:
When a previous policy is ported to Raheja QBE health insurance, the NCB built up under the previous policy operates differently based on the circumstances.
Let's go over each of these scenarios in more detail below:
Scenario 1: If the policyholder chooses a Raheja QBE health insurance policy with precisely the same sum insured, the previous policy's waiting periods will suffice.
For example, let's take Bhavesh, whose health policy is of Rs 5 lakh and a No Claims Bonus (NCB) of Rs 3 lakh. If Bhavesh decides to switch to a Raheja QBE health insurance policy, also with a base sum insured of Rs 5 lakh, the waiting periods from his previous policy will continue. This means that Bhavesh can access coverage benefits without going through additional waiting periods.
Scenario 2: The previous policy's waiting periods will be sufficient if the policyholder ports to a health insurance policy with a base Sum Insured, i.e. SI equal to the base SI plus the NCB from the earlier policy.
For example, consider Bhavesh, who has a health policy of Rs 5 lakh and an NCB of Rs 3 lakh. If Bhavesh chooses to switch to a Raheja QBE health insurance policy of Rs 8 lakh, the waiting periods from his previous policy will continue. This happens because the total of Bhavesh's previous policy's base sum insured and NCB (Rs 5 lakh + Rs 3 lakh) matches the Raheja QBE policy's base sum insured (Rs 8 lakh).
Scenario 3: If the policyholder chooses a Raheja QBE health insurance policy with a higher base sum insured than their previous health policy, along with the retained NCB, the increased coverage amount is subjected to waiting periods.
For example, Bhavesh's current health policy has a base sum insured of Rs 5 lakh and an NCB of Rs 3 lakh. If Bhavesh decides to port to a Raheja QBE health plan with a base SI of Rs 10 lakh, the waiting periods served under the previous policy will be carried forward to the first Rs 8 lakh coverage. Yet, to access the additional Rs 2 lakh in coverage, regular waiting periods apply.
