Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana is a scheme launched by the Government of Bihar to support women in setting up small businesses. The scheme was launched by PM Narendra Modi on 26 September 2025, initially covering 75 lakh women, who received ₹10,000 as the first instalment. The scheme is also known as PM Mahila Rojgar Yojana due to its launch by the Prime Minister Modi.

What is Mahila Rojgar Yojana?

The Mahila Rojgar Yojana was launched to support lower-income women in Bihar, enabling them to start their own employment or enterprises.

  • The beneficiary of the scheme receives a support of ₹10,000 to ₹2 lakh, depending on the success of their enterprises.
  • The funds are transferred in the Direct Bank Transfer mode where the beneficiary receives the amount directly in their bank accounts.
  • The scheme also has a provision where workers from Self Help Groups train the beneficiary.

Eligibility Criteria for Mahila Rojgar Yojana

Below are some of the eligibility criteria to successfully enroll in the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana:

  • Female permanent resident of Bihar between 18 years and 60 years.
  • Only one woman from each family is allowed to enroll.
  • No family member should be a government employee.
  • Must be associated with a Self Help Group

How to Apply for Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana

People can apply for Bihar’s Mahila Rojgar Yojana online as well as in offline mode.

  1. Mahila Rojgar Yojana Online Application

    • Step 1: Visit the official website- www.mmry.brlps.in.
    • Step 2: Click on “Open Link” on the registration page.
    • Step 3: You will be redirected to the Self Registration Page asking whether you are related to SHG.
    • Step 4: If you are a SHG member, you will have to contact your Area Level Organization to apply.
    • Step 5: If not associated with any SHG, you can continue to self register and fill in details such as Aaadhar Number, Mobile Number and Father/Husband’s name.
    • Step 6: Click on “Send OTP” and verify the provided OTP.
    • Step 7 : Log in the account and complete the form.
  2. Mahila Rojgar Yojana Offline Application

    As mentioned above, applicants already part of a Self Help Group can apply for Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana by reaching out to their village organizations.
