Deposit Amount: Minimum Rs. 10,000/- with no maximum limit.
Period of Deposit: Can range from 1 year to 10 years.
Rate of Interest: Determined by Card Rate for NRE term deposits, subject to bank's circulars.
Premature/ Part Withdrawal:
No penalty for withdrawing part or full deposit before maturity.
Withdrawn amount earns interest based on the rate applicable at the time of deposit, with no interest if withdrawn before completing one year.
Withdrawn amounts credited to NRE/NRO account.
Withdrawable Amount: Can withdraw any amount in multiples of Rs. 1,000/- without affecting the entire deposit, ensuring the remaining balance does not drop below Rs. 10,000/-.
Renewal of Term Deposit: Remaining deposit automatically renewed as per customer’s instruction upon maturity.
Compounding of Interest: Interest compounded quarterly as per RBI directives, subject to changes.
Payment of Interest:
Income Option: Monthly/quarterly interest credited to NRE/NRO savings account. No interest paid if withdrawal occurs within one year.
Reinvestment/ Maturity Option: Quarterly compounded interest credited to Term Deposit account if held for at least one year.
Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) can open PNB NRE Rupee Sugam Term Deposit accounts either individually or jointly.
