NRI Account Meaning and the Opening Process

An NRI account meaning can be defined as a specialised bank account designed for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to manage their savings, income, investments, and remittances in India while residing abroad. State Bank of India (SBI) offers NRE, NRO, and FCNR (B) accounts for NRIs through its extensive international network and branches in India. Eligible customers can complete the NRI account opening process by applying through SBI's overseas offices or designated branches in India.

NRIs can begin the SBI NRI account opening process through selected SBI overseas offices or directly with SBI branches in India:
