Below are the terms and conditions of Bank of Baroda NRE account:

  • Account Opening: NRIs can open an NRE account through inward remittances in any convertible currency via the following channels:
    • Demand drafts
    • Telegraphic transfers
    • Telex
    • Mail transfers
    • SWIFT
    • Transfer from any NRE, FCNR, or local rupee cheque (drawn in India) accounts.

    Note: Cash deposits in Indian Rupees are not permitted.

  • Foreign Currency Deposits: During a personal visit, NRIs can deposit cash in foreign currency or travellers' cheques, which will be converted into Indian Rupees and credited to the account.
  • Interest Payment: Interest is paid semi-annually in June and December. NRIs can check the latest rates on deposits through the bank's website.
