Liability insurance for Stores: Claiming Process

A policyholder may follow the below mentioned steps in order to file a claim under comprehensive general liability policy.

The policyholder should inform the insurance company with regard to the loss or damage caused to a third party in the business premises

The policyholder must appraise the insurance company immediately after acknowledgement of such incident

The policyholder must issue a claim from the insurance company

The policyholder must fill the claim form correctly

The policyholder is required to provide the necessary document which might be asked by the insurer

The insurance company shall appoint a surveyor to investigate the claim

The investigator shall verify the claim and make a report

The report shall be submitted to the insurance company

Based on the report submitted by the investigator or surveyor, the insurance company shall either accept or reject the claim

The insurance company shall compensate the policyholder upon accepting the claim

The insurance company shall inform the policyholder if the claim is rejected along with the grounds of rejection
