These methods are not applicable for the policies that are active during the period of the policy. For your convenience, there are various offline methods. So, if you wish to avail any information about the policies which are active by your name, you can visit the nearest branch or directly contact the LIC agent. Following are the below-mentioned steps to be taken to locate the policy number:
Contacting your agent is one of the effective and simplest methods. If your LIC agents are in contact with you, it becomes quite convenient to get the details of your policies. LIC agents have their LIC ‘agent portal’ through which they can access the database of the company and recover the policy number in no time. The agent will only be required the policyholder’s name and date of birth. This is the easiest method if you have somehow misplaced the policy number or details.
If the policyholder is not able to find out the policy number through any agent or does not have the online profile on the portal of LIC, then the policyholder can locate the policy number by vising the branch of LIC from where the policy was purchased first. LIC officials will start the recovery process using any of the official policy documents provided to them. While visiting the LIC branch, make sure to bring your PAN card and other ID cards. LIC officials validate the details of the policyholder. Once the verification has been completed, the LIC staff provides you the policy number. In case of no online presence of policyholder’s details, then LIC officials will be liable to check the data manually.
If the policyholder is not able to visit the home branch, then he/she can visit any nearest branch of LIC and request the policy number. The PAN card is required along with your full name and date of birth.
