About Pradhan Mantri Kisan Tractor Yojana 2022

A tractor plays a vital role in a farmer's life, and due to its high prices, not every farmer can afford it. Considering this matter, the central government has announced the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Tractor Yojana 2022, under which the Indian farmers can get a 50% subsidy on buying tractors. Under this, a beneficiary can apply for the scheme, and the subsidiary amount is sent to their account.  

The scheme is already running successfully in some states, including Assam, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, etc. An individual who fulfills all the eligibility requirements can avail of the benefits. Features & Benefits of the Scheme 

The major benefit of this scheme is to provide a 20-50% subsidy while purchasing a new tractor for farming. The Indian farmers are the targeted beneficiaries, and the scheme is to be implemented by the state government. For the ease of farmers, they can submit the filled application from any of the modes available in their respective state i.e. online or offline. Also, the subsidy is directly transferred to the bank account of farmers by the government. 

Eligibility Criteria for the Scheme 

To avail of this scheme, farmers have to fulfill eligibility criteria while submitting their application form. So, as a farmer, you must check the eligibility criteria first before applying for this. Below we have mentioned basic requirements for this scheme-

1. Age Criteria 

To apply for the scheme, an individual should fall in the age category of 18-60 years. The relaxation in age depends upon any state government statement. 

2. Nationality Criteria 

It is understood, that the applicant should have the nationality of India. 

3. Family Income Criteria

To fulfill the eligibility criterion, the annual family income of the applicant should be less than 1.5 Lakhs.

4. Other Criteria 

The primary criteria for this scheme are that the applicant should have agricultural land and fall into the category of the marginal farmer.

Applicants can only buy one tractor under this scheme, and they should not be a part of any other similar kind of subsidy scheme. 

Only one member of a family can avail of the associated benefits. Also, this scheme offers additional benefits for female farmers. 

Other than this, the farmers should not have purchased any tractor in the last seven years. Under this scheme, the farmers can also get loans.  

Documents Required to Avail this Scheme 

A farmer should keep the following documents handy for applying under this scheme-

1. Aadhar card of the applicant along with any other valid identity card like PAN card, Driving License (DL), or voter ID card.

2. Legal documents of the land.

3. Copy of the bank passbook.

4. Passport-sized photograph of the farmer. 

How to Register Under This Scheme? 

A farmer fulfilling all the eligibility criteria for the scheme can submit their application online or offline mode. All the eligible farmers can visit their nearby Common Service Centre (CSC), public service centre, or state-level agricultural department.

Make sure you fill in the required information carefully, and all the entries should be correct. For your convenience, keep the required documents handy and use them whenever needed.
