The government launches these agriculture schemes for the betterment of the farmers. It helps create employment and wealth for the farmers as well as other citizens. With this scheme, the central government of India resolves the need for water preservation.
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana
The Indian government has launched this scheme in the year 2016. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial support to the farmers who suffer crop loss or damage that came out of nowhere. Just like a tractor insurance policy which provides protection to the owner of the tractor from any unforeseen incident, this insurance scheme stabilizes the farmer’s income and makes sure that they can continue their farming.
Apart from the security of the corps, this scheme is launched to encourage farmers to take up new and innovative agricultural practices. This scheme will be implemented through some of the selected insurance companies under the guidance and control of the development of agriculture, corporation & farmer's welfare.
National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture
To make agriculture more sustainable and productive the Indian government launched this scheme. It is designed to optimize the utilization of water resources and manage the water efficiency so that it can be expanded for achieving more crop.
The government’s mission is to provide significant components and the objective is to increase the use of water by using modern age technologies. By modern technology means small irrigation method, efficient water consumption and better distribution of water and channels.
Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana
Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana is one of the most popular agricultural schemes by the ministry of agriculture. This scheme plans to encourage the farmers for organic farming by implementing a government scheme in India. It will be a big advantage for the Indian farmer.
Under this scheme, the central government of India plans to help the farmers financially with Rs. 50,000 per hectare every three years so that they can process organic farming, label, pack and transport. This scheme also focuses on the farmer’s welfare. By increasing organic manures, bio-pesticides and bio-fertilizers as much as possible, this scheme will help in reducing the excessive use of chemical fertilizers and agro-chemicals.
Kisan Credit Card
This scheme was launched by the Central Government of India in the year 1998. The objective of this scheme is to provide enough credit to the farmers so that they can use it in the expenditure of farming and agriculture. The government aims to provide farm credit at the rate of 4% per annum as a government subsidy. This scheme is a part of Atma Nirbhar Bharat Scheme.
Many farmers die every year in India due to a shortage of money, and the government wants to end the spree by providing Kisan Credit Card and help them in every way.
The central government wants the farmers to avail of the benefits provided under this scheme. Farmers can use the credit amount for their working capital. The Modi government has a goal of covering around 2.5 crore farmers under the Kisan Credit Card scheme and also planning to raise the limit from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.60 lakh of the existing free loans. The government wants the farmers of the country to be Self-sufficient so that they do not have to depend on anyone else.
