Why Are Add-On Covers in a Two-Wheeler Insurance Policy Required?

Types of Bike Insurance Policies in India – Our Products

In India, bike insurance plans come in different types, each one offering a different level of protection at a varied insurance premium. Here is a quick product guide of Policybazaar to help you choose the right one.

Third Party Bike Insurance

Bike Insurance

Bike insurance, also known as two-wheeler insurance, is a financial safety net that protects you and your vehicle from unexpected expenses arising from various risks, including accidents.
It ensures that you can ride without worrying about repair or replacement costs.
Own Damage Bike Insurance

Third-Party Bike Insurance

Third-party bike insurance is legally mandatory under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. It covers any damage or injury caused to another person or property due to your bike.
However, it does not cover damage to your own vehicle. It's ideal for riders seeking legal compliance and basic protection at a lower premium.
Comprehensive Bike Insurance

Comprehensive Bike Insurance

Comprehensive bike insurance offers complete protection, covering both third-party liabilities and own damage to your two-wheeler. It protects against accidents, theft, fire, vandalism, and natural or man-made disasters.
You can also enhance coverage with add-ons like zero depreciation cover, roadside assistance cover, engine protection cover, etc.
Comprehensive Bike Insurance

Own Damage Cover Bike Insurance

Own Damage cover protects only your bike against damage from accidents, fire, theft, or natural disasters. Introduced by IRDAI in 2019, it allows you to buy standalone own damage insurance if you already have an active third-party two wheeler insurance policy.
Comprehensive Bike Insurance

Zero Depreciation Bike Insurance

A zero depreciation bike insurance policy is also known as a "Bumper-to-Bumper" policy. It ensures that no depreciation is deducted during accidental claim settlement. You receive the full cost of replaced parts, making it ideal for new bikes and high-end models.
Comprehensive Bike Insurance

Personal Accident Cover

Personal Accident (PA) cover or Compulsory Personal Accident (CPA) cover in bike insurance is a mandatory add-on cover for all bike owners. Personal Accident (PA) Cover provides financial protection in case of death or permanent disability due to a road accident. It ensures your loved ones are financially secure even in unforeseen situations.
