Syndicate Bank is the oldest and one of the major commercial banks in India. The bank was nationalized in 1969. The bank was merged with Canara Bank on the 01st of April 2020. The rate of interest of Canara Bank for FDs will now apply to Syndicate Bank FD rates. The bank has its headquarters in Manipal, Karnataka.

The bank has 4103 branches spread across India and 88 out of these 4103 branches were opened recently. The bank has sponsored many rural banks and has thus contributed to the development of India at the grass-root level.
