New Delhi Marathon to be sponsored by Ageas Federal Life

The event is categorized into 3 types - 42 km Full Marathon, 21 km Half Marathon, and 5 Km Swachh Bharat Run (to promote the idea of a clean and green India).

The marathon has announced a prize pot of Rs 35 lacs across elite and age-group categories. However, only Indian nationals are allowed to participate in the elite event with an intention to promote running as a sport in India.

The Running Partner for this upcoming event will be Adidas and will be conducting special running clubs to help enthusiasts take to running as a fitness platform.  Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has honored Ageas Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon with the title of ‘National Marathon Championship 2016’. The athletes participating and performing well in this event will have a chance to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics. Additionally, performance will also lead to national ranking for runners for the year 2016.
