What are the Benefits of the Rajshree Yojana?

The following are some of the benefits of the Rajshree Yojana scheme:

  • Financial assistance: The scheme provides financial assistance of ₹50,000 to parents of girl children for all-rounded development of the child. This sum is divided into 6 unequal instalments as per the expenditure incurred per milestone.
  • Health Benefits: By incentivising in-hospital deliveries and vaccinations, the scheme aims to reduce mortality rates in mothers as well as infants.
  • Access to education: Rajasthan government provides families with the incentive of the instalment amount if they send their girl child to school. The instalments pertaining to the admission of the child in various classes are only released after a confirmation of admission and regular attendance is provided by the parents and the schools.
  • Girl-child empowerment: The true benefit of this scheme is that it empowers girl children across Rajasthan. It incentivises various landmarks of a girl child's life, encouraging parents to send their daughters to school and take care of their overall health.

Conclusion

The Rajshree Yojana is an initiative by the Rajasthan government to not only reduce female child mortality rates but also ensure that girl children across the state receive regular and proper education. The scheme does so by incentivising the various milestones of the child’s life, encouraging the parents to enrol their girl child in government-recognised schools. The scheme is instrumental in improving the sex ratio in Rajasthan along with bringing a noticeable change in the number of girls being enrolled in schools within the state.

If you are looking for a financially strong future for your child, you can also invest in a child plan as the Rajshree Yojana might not be enough considering the rising prices of education in India.
