The Mahajyoti Tab Scheme is an exclusive programme that provides free tablets to marginalised students who are preparing for tough entrance examinations such as MHT-CET, JEE, and NEET. The scheme targets students who have passed their 10th standard and belong to the OBC, VJNT, and SBC categories.

Eliminating the Digital Divide: By providing top-class hardware devices to deserving students who are academically proficient but financially poor and unable to afford such advanced tablets needed for e-learning.
Ensuring Competitive Edge: By providing an exclusive platform for MHT-CET, JEE, and NEET aspirants to prepare using mock tests, recorded lectures, and live doubt-clarification classes.
Ensuring Remote Education: Helping non-metro city students take online classes.
Cost-Free Professional Education: Protecting families from additional expenditure related to professional education who belong to NCL categories OBC, VJNT, and SBC.
CBT Environment: Making the students familiar with the CBT environment because CBP will be the usual mode of conducting all competitive entrance exams in 2026.
The government is also introducing several welfare initiatives in education, employment, and financial protection, including government life insurance schemes, to support different sections of society.

A detailed evaluation process depends on social classification and educational purposes.
Social Classification: Candidates should belong to OBC, VJNT, or SBC communities and have a valid Caste Certificate provided by the Maharashtra Government.
Economic Position: The applicant’s family should come under “Non-Creamy Layer” (NCL). An updated NCL certificate is compulsory.
Residency: The applicant should be a domicile of Maharashtra.
Stream of Education: Only those students who are currently studying in the eleventh standard (Science Stream) and aim to take the entrance examination for 2026 are eligible to apply.
Education Qualification: Candidates should have passed the 10th Standard (SSC) examinations from any recognised board with a minimum percentage.

Visit the section “Notice Board” of the website and go for the link related to distribution of tablets.
Fill out the application form with required information such as personal details, Aadhar card number, and college-admission details.
Submit the required documents in PDF or JPEG format as specified in the instructions.
Documents provided by the applicant will be verified at the district offices of the Department of Social Justice & Special Assistance.
The selected candidate’s list will be displayed on the website, from which tablets can be distributed from centres or directly from one’s Junior College.
