Introduction/Overview

Edelweiss Tokio Life Dhan Nivesh Bima Yojana is a traditional Endowment micro insurance plan designed for rural population which provides life insurance coverage and savings facility at low rates.

Key Features

  • It is a Single Premium plan with low premiums
  • Guaranteed Maturity and /or death benefits depending on the amount of premium invested
  • There are 2 death benefit options of A and B

Benefits

  • On death, under Option A, 5 times the Single premium is paid and under Option B, 10 times the Single premium is paid to the nominee
  • On maturity, guaranteed benefit of 2 * single premium for ages 18-35 yrs., 1.90 * single premium for ages 36-40 yrs. and 1.80*single premium for ages 41-45 years is paid under Option A
  • Under Option B, 1.86 * Single premium for ages 18-35 yrs. and 1.66*single premium for ages 36-40 years is paid
  • Income tax benefit on the premium paid as per Section 80C and on the claims received as per Section 10(10D) of the Income Tax Act.

Policy Details

Grace Period: grace period is not applicable

Policy Termination or Surrender Benefit: Policyholder is allowed to surrender the policy from the 2nd policy year. The Surrender Value will be calculated as a % of the Maturity Benefit ranging from 46% - 92% depending on the year of Surrender

Free Look Period: If you would not be pleased with the coverage, and terms and conditions of the policy, you have the option of canceling the policy within 15 days of receipt of the policy documents, provided there has been no claim.

Exclusions

In case of suicide committed within one year of policy issuance, 90% of the single premium paid is refundable.
