ATAL Academy: Free Faculty Development Programmes by AICTE

Objectives of ATAL Academy

ATAL Academy programmes are designed around specific capacity-building goals for educators and researchers in technical institutions.

• Deliver structured training in thrust areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Sustainable Development, and Healthcare Technology to faculty in AICTE-approved institutions

• Build research and teaching competency among faculty to meet the standards set under the AICTE Approval Process Handbook (APH) 2024-27

• Fund FDPs with grants up to Rs. 6,00,000 per programme to ensure institutions in remote and underrepresented regions can host quality training without financial constraints

• Introduce faculty to interdisciplinary tools, innovation frameworks, and entrepreneurship practices through structured 6-day and 12-day programmes

• Issue AICTE-recognised certificates on completion, valid for academic promotions, career progression, and research credentials at all AICTE-approved institutions

Training Programmes Offered

ATAL Academy conducts two categories of FDPs for the academic year 2025-26, both available in online and offline modes. Programmes are offered across defined thrust areas, including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Sustainable Development, Healthcare Technology, Data Science, and Emerging Engineering domains.

Eligibility

ATAL Academy FDPs are open to a defined set of participants from AICTE-approved institutions. The eligibility criteria are as follows.

Step-by-Step Registration

Registration for ATAL FDPs is done through the official portal. The same services are also accessible via the UMANG app and UMANG web portal:

Via ATAL Academy Portal:

• Visit atalacademy.aicte-india.org/signup and create a participant account

• Log in and complete your profile with institution and qualification details

• Navigate to FDPs Menu and select ATAL Online or ATAL Offline

• Filter by month, thrust area, or FDP type to find relevant programmes

• Click the "+" icon next to the preferred FDP to apply

• Upload the required NOC from your institution (for offline FDPs)

• Submit the application and await confirmation from the coordinating institution

Via UMANG App:

• Download the UMANG app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store

• Log in using your registered mobile number

• Search for "ATAL Academy" in the UMANG search bar

• Browse available FDPs and access the registration portal directly within the app

Via UMANG Web Portal:

• Visit UMANG web portal and search for AICTE Training And Learning (ATAL) Academy

• Log in using your registered mobile number and complete OTP verification

• Select the ATAL Academy service and browse or register for available FDPs
