National Creche Scheme Guidelines

  • Crèches usually run for 26 days each month, staying open for about 7.5 hours daily to match typical working hours

  • Each crèche is designed to care for a maximum of 25 children at a time

  • To ensure proper attention and safety, every crèche is managed by one trained worker and one helper

National Creche Scheme Benefits

The scheme is offering a variety of services, which are aimed at the overall development and well-being of children and supporting working mothers. Here are the main National Creche Scheme benefits.

  • Day-Care Facilities: Creches offer childcare under the supervision of the working hours.

  • Nutritional Support: Children receive the supplemental nutrition according to guidelines.

  • Early Stimulation for children below 3 years and pre-school Education for 3 to 6-year-old children.

  • Health Check-up: Proper immunisation and frequent check-ups of health and growth are done.

  • Early Childhood education: Activities are structured to promote cognitive development and social development.

  • Safe Environment: Children are attended to in an organised and safe environment.

  • Support for Working Mothers: Enables women to continue employment or livelihood activities.

The services are useful in alleviating the burden of childcare on families, and in ensuring that the children are well taken care of and that they are attended to. Financial protection may also be provided to families in the long term by looking into protection schemes like government life insurance.
