The Major Exams NTA Conducts

NTA conducts several national-level entrance examinations each year, covering undergraduate, postgraduate, and research-level admissions across disciplines. The most prominent among these include:

  • JEE (Main): For admission to B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch/B. Planning programmes at NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions, also serving as a qualifier for JEE (Advanced)

  • NEET (UG): For admission to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, AYUSH, and other medical and allied health courses across India

  • CUET (UG and PG): For admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at central and participating universities

  • UGC NET: For determining eligibility for Assistant Professor positions and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges

  • CSIR UGC NET: A joint examination for JRF and Lectureship eligibility specifically in Science and Technology subjects

  • NCET: For admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP)

  • CMAT and other specialised exams: Including NCHM JEE, AIAPGET, and various other discipline-specific entrance tests

Most of these exams are conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode, though a few, such as NEET (UG), are held in pen-and-paper format.

Exams and Result Details on UMANG App and Web Portal

In each exam, there exists an independent website like jeemain.nta.nic.in for JEE Main and neet.nta.nic.in for NEET, through which scorecard is released first as a candidate login. UMANG currently provides result access for exams such as NEET (UG), which NTA has confirmed uploading directly to the platform. In case of other exams, the official exam website will still be the main and up-to-date source of information, while UMANG and DigiLocker will work as auxiliary sources, as NTA continues to incorporate result display into all of its online facilities.
