  1. NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer)

    One must log into one’s net banking account and select the NEFT payment transfer option to make a payment through NEFT. The bank will send them a UTR (unique transaction reference) after their NEFT transaction is successful. 

  2. ECS (Electronic Clearing Service)

    ECS is an automated auto-debit service in which the policyholder's chosen bank account has an automatic debit on the premium due date.

    • You no longer need to keep track of your premium due date or deal with the hassle of issuing or depositing payment checks, thanks to this automated system.

    • Auto-debit guarantees that premium payments are made on time, preventing the program from being lapsed. The ECS service is currently available in 81 locations throughout India.

    • To use this service, bring the ECS Mandate Form along with a cancelled check to any Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Co. Ltd. branch office. 

    • You must apply for a new ECS Mandate form if you want to adjust your premium number.

    • You must give the insurer written notice at least 15 days before the next due ECS deduction if you want to deactivate the ECS facility for your bank account. 

  3. Normative Instructions

    • The standing instruction facility for premium payment is available to the account holders of Kotak Mahindra Bank.

    • Standing instructions for auto-debit of the premium sum from the policyholder's preferred bank account on the due payment date is included with this service.

    • One can also mail to Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Co. Ltd, following submission, the details will be checked by the bank. 

  4. Direct Debit 

    • The policy renewal premium sum is a direct auto-debited on the due payment date from the policyholder's preferred bank account if the policyholder chooses the direct debit option.

    • The policyholder must fill out a Direct Debit/ECS form and send it to any Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Co. Ltd. branch along with a cancelled check to use this service. 

  5. Credit Card 

    • On the insurer’s website, policyholders can pay their policy renewal premiums with their MasterCard or Visa credit card.

    • If a policyholder pays their premiums with their credit card on the website, the credit card must be in the policyholder's name or issued to the policyholder.

    • One can also pay one’s policy renewal premiums at the branches by swiping one’s credit card.

    • In this situation, too, the card used to make the payment must be issued in the policyholder's name. 

  6. Internet Banking

     Policyholders may also use their bank's internet banking platform to make safe and fast premium payments for their policies. Internet banking can be initiated through their internet banking platforms for the banks including Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, IndusInd Bank, Bank of Baroda, Allahabad Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, United Bank of India, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, and others provide this service. 

  7. IMPS (Immediate Payment Service)

    Policyholders may use their cell phones to pay their renewal premiums using the IMPS process. There are a few measures involved in doing so.

    • They must first enrol in the mobile banking program and register with the IMPS system. 

    • To do so, contact one’s bank and request an MPIN. It will be sent along with an MMID (Mobile Money Identifier).

    • To use the service, one must first download and install their bank's mobile banking application.

    • After they have installed the app, go to the IMPS section and fill in the required information-

    • Merchant Mobile No; Merchant MMID

    • Amount - insert premium amount

    • Payment Reference - insert 8-digit policy number

    • MPIN – issued by the bank).

    • They will receive a message verifying the debit of the premium sum from their account after they have completed the payment. 

  8.  Bill Desk

     Bill Desk, an online payment portal, is another choice for making safe and fast premium payments.

    • To use Bill Desk to make payments, one must first create an account on the Bill Desk website. Bill Desk users do not need to register.

    • Then, in the insurance section, add the insurer to one’s biller list.

    • One must enroll in your policy and authorize the payment after listing the biller. 

Other Options for Online Payment

You can also pay premium by depositing the payment cheques in any Kotak Mahindra Bank ATM drop-box. If paying by check, make the check payable to Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Co. Ltd mentioning the policy number.  Remember to write your name and contact information at the back of the cheque leaf.
