Hero Motocorp Announces to Suspend the Production at All Its Plants Till 01st May Due to Covid – 19 Surge
The largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India, Hero Motocorp has recently announced to close all its manufacturing units till May 01, 2021, due to the surge of Covid – 19. All the manufacturing facilities of Hero include the Global Parts Center will be closed till May 01st due to the wake of the second wave of coronavirus in the country. Hero Motocorp has six units of manufacturing that are located at Gurugram and Dharuhera, Haryana. Neemrana in Rajasthan, Haridwar in Uttarakhand, Halol in Gujarat, and Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh are its other manufacturing units.
The annual production capacity of these plants is approximately 90 lakh units, according to an annual report of Hero Motocorp. The Global Parts Center is situated at Neemrana.
In a statement, Hero Motoopr said that every plant including the Global Parts Center will remain closed for four days starting from 22 April 2021.
Hero Motocorp further mentioned that it will utilize this time of lockdown for carrying out some important maintenance activities.
This shut-down will not impact the manufacturing of the company and it will be able to meet the demands, which is impacted because of local lockdowns in many Indian states and the loss in production will easily be compensated during the remaining quarter.
All the plans of Hero Motocorp will become operational only after the completion of this short shutdown. It further said that Hero Motocorp’s corporate offices are already doing work from home (WFH) and very few employees go to the office on rotation to continue the essential services.
