New Traffic Rules: Now Rs 2,000 Challan Will Be Charged Even If All the Motor Vehicle Papers You Have

As per the New Traffic Rules, even if you carry all the mandatory papers, Rs 2,000 can be deducted as a challan. Under the Motor Vehicle Act, Section 179, if you misbehave or misconduct with the traffic policeman while checking your motor vehicle papers or in any way, he can deduct the challan of Rs 2,000 for conducting such act.

Bought a new bike?

Furthermore, if you are wearing a worn, defective or without BIS-certified helmet, a challan of Rs 1,000 will be charged as per rule 194D of the Motor Vehicle Act. Under this law, if you are not wearing your helmet strip properly while riding the motorbike or scooter, then Rs 1,000 challan invoice will be raised in your name. In such a scenario, despite wearing a helmet, you may have to pay a challan of Rs 2,000 for not following the New Traffic Rules.
