HDFC Ergo to Launch ‘Call a Doctor’ Service

HDFC Ergo is going to join hands with FINO Paytech to introduce ‘Call a Doctor’ service for their health insurance customers. FINO Paytech is a pioneer in acting as a distribution channel for banking, finance and insurance companies. Within a span of few years, FINO Paytech has provided its services to 67 million customers across 490 districts in India. The company has a credible record of working with IRDA to make micro insurance available for low income people in remote rural areas. 

‘Call a Doctor’ service will serve as a valuable add-on to the selective existing health insurance policies of HDFC Ergo. The service is intended to make qualified doctors available for the policyholders where there’s little or no access to quality medical services. A competent physician will make a diagnosis and counsel and guide the policyholder further in availing the health care services.

The industry is expecting that more insurers will follow suit and come up with such initiatives leading to an overall betterment of the insurance sector.
