How to file a health insurance Claim with United India Insurance?
The policyholder can file both cashless and reimbursement claims for United India insurance plans. The procedure that an insured person can follow at the time of claim filing and settlement are as follows:
Cashless claims are only valid for policies that are serviced by a Third-party-administrator:
Firstly, check if the hospital in which you are planning to take the treatment falls under the list of networked hospitals or not. As you can only avail cashless medical treatment in the hospitals that are registered with United India health insurance company.
If the treatment was planned well in advance, notify the TPA dept. in advance with all the details such as the hospital name and address
If it is an emergency case, notify the TPA immediately after the admission
Once admission is taken in the hospital, a pre-authorization request form needs to be filled and signed by you and sent to the third-party administrator by the hospital. The form has all the details regarding the admission, treatment, disease, proposed treatment, and cost estimation.
TPA ask for further clarifications ( as the case may be)
Once you get a discharge from the hospital, you have to pay the remaining amount (if any)
Claim for expenses incurred before and after the hospitalization can be claimed separately post-treatment.
Submit the original copies of all the documents to the TPA department. Make sure the submission is done within seven days of the post-hospitalization treatment.
For Reimbursement Claims-
Send a written notification to the TPA/or at the nearest United India branch about the hospitalization. In emergency cases, intimation should be sent within 24 hours.
While getting discharged, collect the discharge summary, investigation reports and all the other relevant documents from the hospital authorities. Submit all the original documents at the office or to the TPA within 7 days of discharge.
Collect and submit the documents such as claim form, final hospital bills, discharge summary, doctor's prescriptions & certificates, investigation reports, invoices, pharmacy bills etc.

All the claims were hassle free and less paper work too. I am amazed with their customer support. They told that they will give my claim within 15 days and they fulfilled within the period.
