    1. Aditya Birla Activ Health Enhanced Platinum Plan

    Aditya Birla Activ Health Enhanced provides dental insurance cover for investigation and consultation in their Platinum variant. The sum insured is minimum Rs 2 lakh and goes up to Rs 2 Crore. Anyone between the age group of 18-65 years can buy this policy.

    2. Bajaj Allianz Health Guard Gold Plan 

    Bajaj Allianz health guard policy offers dental insurance cover in its Health Guard Gold plan. Dental treatment covers expenses to teeth or structures supporting teeth including surgery, crowns, examinations, extractions, and fillings (where appropriate).

    3. Bharti AXA Health AdvantEdge Plan

    Dental and OPD cover is provided in two variants of this plan i.e. Royal and Apex Plan. The limit for dental cover is 0.5% of the sum insured or up to Rs 1 lakh whichever is less. The dental coverage benefit includes in-network doctor consultation, in-network pharmacy, in-network diagnostics, and in-network physiotherapy.

    4. Cholamandalam Chola Health Plan

    It is a comprehensive health plan that covers outpatient dental expenses in its Privilege Healthline variant. The coverage limit for dental expenses is up to Rs 10,000 in every two year. Dental cover is available as an add-on by paying additional premium.

    5. Digit Health Insurance Plan with OPD and Dental Cover

    The policy offers out-patient dental treatment cover to get immediate relief from dental pain. The insurer pays for tooth X-rays, root canal treatments, amalgam or composite fillings, and extractions. The coverage is extendible to prescribed medicines for the treatment and alignment of teeth for adolescents.

    6. Star Comprehensive Health Insurance Policy

    It covers dental treatment expenses under out-patient benefit once after 3 years up to Rs. 5,000 or Rs. 10,000 depending on the sum insured value.

    Types of Health Insurance Policies that offer Dental Insurance Cover in India

    • Individual Health Policies: These insurance policies may have dental insurance covered under their basic plan, additional benefits or premium covers wherein the customers will have to pay additionally to acquire this benefit.
    • Critical Illness Policies: This can be seen as a standalone policy that specifically caters a particular kind of illness. Some policies may offer dental surgeries that fall under critical medical procedures as part of their plan.
    • Family Floater Health Insurance Policies: Since most of these plans are linked with Mediclaim’s cashless benefits, dental insurance is generally covered as part of the plan for the insured and the family members covered in the plan.
    • Preventive Healthcare Policies: Sometimes, policies that cover preventive care like regular medical check-ups, consultation costs can also cover dental requirements.
    • Personal Accident Cover: Sometimes personal accident cover will cover dental expenses resulting due to an accident that may have caused injury to one’s teeth.
