BJP chief ministerial candidate Harsh Vardhan assured that on winning elections he would launch a universal health insurance policy under where every Delhiite will be insured for a nominal sum of Rs. 6 and get covered with unlimited access to health infrastructure at state government facility. He elaborated that people would not need to carry their medical cards; rather, they can register online and receive an auto-generated number for the same. One can say a goodbye to the long and tiring queues as the premium can be paid online.

On the 3rd day of BJP’s campaign, Dus Din Dus Irrade, Vardhan said that Healthcare needs to be counted as a social issue and as soon as BJP comes to power, they would launch a universal health insurance wherein every Delhiite would have complete healthcare. Health infrastructure under Center and Sheila Dikshit government was on the target of Vardhan. He also informed that India under UPA governance could not achieve its commitments set under UN’s Millennium Development Goals and it would be a shame when they would arrive here for a review in 2015. He promised that BJP would modernize Delhi hospitals on a war-footing with state-of-the-art equipment and new hospitals will get constructed in the areas which are deprived of such facilities.
