Taking inspiration from the increase in digital consultations during the COVID-19, the Reliance Digital Care Management Policy has been introduced to cover OPD treatment expenses for both digital and physical doctor consultations. It helps people to meet non-hospitalization expenses arising out of doctor visits, medicine purchases, investigative tests, etc., which is roughly between Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000 per person in a year.
The Reliance OPD policy provides unlimited physical doctor consultations to the insured. It also comes with dental & ophthalmology cover, investigative tests cover and pharmacy/medicine cover. It also covers digital consultations through telemedicine and online pharmacy costs.
The new OPD policy can be purchased by adults between the age of 18 to 75 years. It comes with a sum insured ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 5000. However, applicants can avail a 5% discount if they are vaccinated against COVID-19. Existing customers of Reliance General Insurance Company can avail an additional 5% discount on the premium while buying the policy.
Moreover, policyholders will be able to avail cashless in-clinic consultations, medicine delivery and diagnostic seamlessly with the help of the mobile application of the insurance company. The app can also be used for the faster settlement of reimbursement claims.
The Reliance Digital Care Management Policy has been launched under the sandbox regulations of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
