Who would you like to insure?
The Super Top-up Medicare (Revised) plan comes with a mandatory deductible ranging from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. It provides coverage for in-patient hospitalization along with pre-hospitalization and post-hospitalization expenses.
Moreover, policies with a deductible of less than Rs 10 lakh provide home treatment coverage of up to Rs 15,000. On the other hand, policies with a deductible of more than Rs 10 lakh offer home treatment coverage of up to Rs 30,000.
However, the policy comes with attractive premiums. For instance, a 40-year-old person will be charged a premium of Rs 3744 per annum for a sum insured of Rs 20 lakh with a Rs 5 lakh deductible. But if the same person opts for Rs 95 lakh sum insured, then the premium amount will increase to Rs 6552 per annum.
Besides, the United India Insurance Company also offers a 10% online discount, a 5% family discount and a 15% staff discount.
The Super Top-up Medicare (Revised) plan does not cover medical expenses incurred on diagnostic tests, maternity expenses, cosmetic surgeries, sex change surgeries and unproven treatment amongst others.
Besides, this plan can only be purchased by people up to the age of 65 years. People above the age of 60 years would be required to undergo a mandatory pre-policy medical check-up to buy this top-up insurance plan. Moreover, this plan does not give the option of including parents under the family floater cover.
