The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri. Siddaramaiah, has stated that about Rs. 73 crore has been allocated for this scheme of which Rs. 10 crore would be released first. As per this scheme, the victim would be paid Rs. 25, 000 for the first 48 hours of hospitalization which is a critical period.
He further added that the scheme would be spearheaded by the Suvarna Aarogya Suraksha Trust based in Bangalore. As this scheme is not being offered in collaboration with an insurance company; the funds would be sanctioned directly by the government.
