      1. Galaxy Health Insurance Pre-existing Diseases Waiting Period

        This type of waiting period must be served to claim the cost of treating pre-existing diseases or PED, such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, etc.

      2. Galaxy Health Insurance Specified Disease/Procedure Waiting Period

        Policyholders should serve this waiting period to pay for specified diseases or procedures, like cataract, joint replacement surgery, varicose veins, hernia, congenital internal diseases, etc.

      3. Galaxy Health Insurance Initial Waiting Period

        This waiting period needs to be served to file a health insurance claim for a non-accidental hospitalization of the insured.

      4. Galaxy Health Insurance Delivery Expenses Cover Waiting Period

        The insured must serve this waiting period to claim the medical expenses incurred during childbirth under a maternity insurance policy.

      5. Galaxy Health Insurance Organ Transplantation Expenses Waiting Period

        This waiting period should be served to pay for the hospitalization expenses resulting from the organ transplantation surgery of the insured, including the cost of harvesting the donated organ.

      6. Galaxy Health Insurance Organ Donor Expenses Waiting Period

        The insured needs to serve this waiting period to claim the cost of treating the organ donor for any complications requiring a redo surgery or an ICU admission, and undergoing an organ transplantation surgery of the insured.

      7. Galaxy Health Insurance Newborn Baby Cover Waiting Period

        This type of waiting period must be served to file a claim to pay for the in-patient treatment of the newborn baby.

      8. Galaxy Health Insurance Bariatric Surgery Waiting Period

        Policyholders should serve this waiting period to claim the medical expenses incurred on the bariatric surgery of the insured.

      9. Galaxy Health Insurance Assisted Reproduction Treatment Waiting Period

        This type of waiting period needs to be served to claim the cost of undergoing an assisted reproduction treatment.

      Is It Possible to Reduce the Galaxy Health Insurance Waiting Period?

      Yes. The waiting period for pre-existing diseases can be reduced to 1 year or 2 years, depending on the variant, under Galaxy Promise and Marvel plans. In fact, policyholders can reduce the waiting period for PED, including asthma, hypertension, diabetes and cholesterol, to 30 days with the Insta Care Cover benefit under Galaxy Promise and Marvel plans.

      Similarly, the specific disease waiting period can be reduced from 2 years to 1 year with the Reduction in Specific Disease Waiting Period benefit under the Galaxy Marvel plan. However, these benefits are available only on the payment of an additional premium.

      *₹2020/month is the starting price for ₹ 1 Cr Health insurance for a 50 year old male & 50 years old female, living in Bangalore with no pre-existing diseases rounded off to nearest 10.

      *₹390/month (₹13 per day) is starting price for 1 cr. Health insurance for 25 years old male, with pre-existing diseases, residing from tier 1 city rounded off to the nearest 10.
