    Inclusions of the Star Young Star Insurance Policy

    A person can buy a Star Young Star Insurance Policy on an individual and family floater basis with sum insured options of Rs 3 lakh to Rs 1 crore (on an individual basis) and Rs 5 lakh to Rs 1 crore (on a family floater basis. One can either choose a gold plan or a silver plan under this policy based on their requirements.

    The following coverage is offered under Star Young Star Health Insurance policy:

    • In-hospitalization expenses  Hospitalization expenses, including room rent, nursing expenses, specialist’s fees, ICU charges, are covered
    • Emergency Road Ambulance Charges- In case of a medical emergency that requires the insured to be immediately transferred to the hospital, ambulance charges are covered.
    • Pre-hospitalization expenses - Any medical expenses incurred before admission to the hospital are covered up to 60 days
    • Post-hospitalization expenses - Medical Expenses incurred up to 90 days after discharge from the hospital are covered.
    • DayCare Procedures - Any medical procedure that requires hospitalization of less than 24 hours are covered.
    • E-medical Opinion- Insured can obtain an e-medical opinion from the insurer's panel of experts
    • Cumulative Bonus- For every claim-free year, the insured can claim a cumulative bonus of 20% of the Basic Sum Insured
    • Modern Treatments- Several modern-day treatments that require advanced medical techniques are covered, such as deep brain stimulation, balloon sinuplasty, oral chemotherapy, etc.
    • Delivery Expenses– It covers delivery expenses up to Rs 30,000 per delivery are taken care of under the Gold plan only.
    • Hospital Cash Benefit– It provides a cash allowance of Rs 1000 daily for up to 7 days per hospitalization and 14 days per policy period is provided under the Gold plan only.

    Additional Covers:

    • Health Check-ups- Expenses related to health check-up are covered for every policy year.
    • Automatic Restoration of Basic Sum Insured- If the sum insured limit is exhausted, the insured can avail of the auto sum insured restoration benefit up to 100%, except for modern treatments.
    • Additional Sum Insured for RTA- In-patient hospitalization due to a road traffic accident is covered once in a policy year, provided the insured was wearing a helmet and was riding a two-wheeler.
    • Star Wellness Program- The insured can avail of rewards through wellness activities and by maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The rewards can be used to avail of savings on premium payments.

    • The policy has two plan options- Gold and Silver with multiple sum insured options.
    • No capping on room rent allowing treatment at single AC room
    • Health checkup expenses are covered
    • Automatic restoration of the sum insured up to100% is offered
    • Hospitalization expenses due to a road traffic accident are covered
    • Mid-term inclusion of a newly married spouse or newborn or a legally adopted child is allowed
    • 10% savings on premium through Wellness Program is an attractive feature of this policy
    • Tax benefits can be availed as per the Income Tax Act.

    Exclusions of the Star Young Star Insurance Policy

    Given below is the list of treatments and diseases that are not covered under the Star Young Star Insurance Policy:

    • Pre-existing diseases(for the first year)
    • Specified diseases come with a waiting period of 12 months
    • No expenses are covered during the 30-day waiting period, except for accidents
    • Rest cure or respite care treatment
    • Obesity-related treatment
    • Gender change treatment
    • Cosmetic or plastic surgery treatments
    • Breach of law
    • Alcoholism or any other drug addiction
    • Sterility and infertility
    • Circumcision treatment
    • Intentional self-injury
    • STDs
    • War or invasion like situations
    • Nuclear weapon attack
    • Existing specified diseases

    Star Young Star Insurance Eligibility Criteria

    The minimum eligibility criteria to buy the Star Young Star Insurance plan are:

    Cancellation of the Star Young Star Insurance Policy

    To cancel the Star Young Star Health Insurance policy, the policyholder can cancel the policy within a 15-day free look period. The amount will be refunded less any expenses incurred by the company or stamp duty charges. If the policy is cancelled after 15 days, the amount will be refunded on a pro-rata basis.
