The claimant should always be aware of the procedures and the documentation needed before filing the death claim. 2 types of death are considered by the insurer under the Tata AIA term insurance claim process: Early & non-early death. Early Death is when the life assured dies within 3 years of the policy tenure, and in other cases, it is a non-early demise. The documents needed for filing the death claim differ between the different insurance companies.

The claimant should inform the insurer about the policyholder’s death as early as possible. The insurance company can be informed about the demise by calling on their helpline number or online by visiting the official website of the insurer. The claimant is required to fill in all the details in the online portal at the ‘Claims’ section.
In order to initiate the Tata AIA Term insurance claim process, the claimant has to submit claim supporting documents requested by the insurer. The documents required may vary in case of accidental and natural death. The claim assistance team will then verify the documents and other submitted information, evaluate the claim and the declaration of a nominee.
Depending on the Tata AIA Term Insurance claim process proceedings, the insurer will notify, if any additional documents are needed. If the requirements are satisfied, the insurer will move towards the claim settlement. The claim benefit will be transferred to the bank account of the nominee. The nominee should make sure to provide the correct details of the bank account and receive the payout timely.

Then, choose ‘Register online claim’ where the claimant can also check the list of documents required.
In the claim registration section, fill in the information such as the name of the life assured name of the policyholder, death date, claimant’s details, type of claim.
