Bajaj Allianz Corona Kavach Policy Eligibility Criteria

Bajaj Allianz Corona Kavach policy is eligible for anyone who is 18 years old and upto 65 years old. This is a family floater policy that will cover your:

  • Spouse
  • Children (1 days to 25 years)
  • Parents/parents in-law

Inclusions of Bajaj Allianz Corona Kavach PolicyThe policy pays for the coronavirus treatment expenses for an insured patient who has been hospitalized or quarantined at home. Here is a checklist of the policy inclusions:

1. COVID-19 Hospitalization Cover

The policy compensates you for coronavirus hospitalization expenses as mentioned under:

  • Hospitalization expenses including room charges, boarding expenses, nursing expenses
  • In case the patient is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit (ICCU), the expenses will also be covered
  • Fees paid to the treating doctor or the Surgeon at hospital, including the fees paid to the Anesthetist, Consultants or a Specialist
  • Other treatment expenses on blood, oxygen, anesthesia, surgical appliances, medicines and drugs, operation theatre charges, ventilator charges, diagnostics tests, diagnostic imaging modalities, etc.
  • Moreover, the cost incurred on masks, PPE Kits, gloves and such similar consumable items is also covered
  • Expenses incurred on road ambulance transportation by a COVID patient is also covered up to a limit of Rs 2000
  • In order to avail the hospitalization coverage benefits, it is required for the insured person to be admitted in the hospital for at least 24 hours

2. Home Care Treatment Expenses Cover

Home Care Treatment Expenses are covered if the test results positive by a Government Authorized diagnostic Centre and the treatment was advised at home with the following terms and conditions

  • The home treatment should be advised by a medical practitioner
  • The insured patient needs to avail an active line of treatment along with daily monitoring of health status by a doctor
  • If the above two conditions are met and a daily chart record is maintained and signed off by the treating doctor then you can avail the coverage under this policy

Home care treatment expenses that are covered under this coronavirus insurance policy are listed below:

  • Cost of Oxygen cylinder, Pulse oximeter, and Nebulizer
  • Costs of diagnostic tests
  • Cost of the prescribed medicines
  • Doctors and medical practitioners fees
  • Fees charged by the medical staff along with the nursing charges
  • Medical procedures limited to parenteral administration of medicines

3. AYUSH Treatment Cover

If the patient seeks Ayurveda treatment for COVID-19 in the form of Homeopathy, Unani, Siddha, Yoga and Naturopathy, it is also covered. If the insured COVID positive person gets admitted to any AYUSH hospital, the policy will cover the expenses.

4. Pre and Post Hospitalization Cover

The Corona Kavach policy also covers 15 days of pre-hospitalization medical expenses and 30-days of post-hospitalization treatment.

Optional Add-on Cover

You can buy this add-on cover by paying an additional cover over and above the basic policy coverage. The applicant can also opt for Hospital Cash benefit that entitles the insured person to 0.5% of the coverage amount for each day of hospitalization. It is valid only for a maximum of 1 5 days during the policy term in respect of every insured member.

Being a benefit add-on cover, the policyholder does not require any receipts or bills to claim the due amount provided the base claim is admissible by the insurer.

Exclusions of Bajaj Allianz Corona Kavach Policy

The policy covers almost all the coronavirus related expenses, but there are certain conditions under which the policy can reject the claims:

  • Testing done at a unrecognized diagnostic centre ( non-government authorized)
  • Travel history to restricted countries
  • Any coronavirus related claim that was diagnosed before policy commencement date
  • OPD treatment and Day Care treatment expenses
  • Diagnosis and treatment outside India

Claim Process for Bajaj Allianz Corona Kavach Policy

Claim Settlement Process of Bajaj Allianz COVID medical insurance is as follows:

Cashless Claim Settlement

  • Admission in Network Hospital- You go to one of the network hospitals for treatment.
  • Pre-Authorization- The details filled by you in the pre-authorization form will be verified and send it to Bajaj Allianz medical insurance department.
  • After verifying the pre-authorization request details with policy coverage, the decision is conveyed to the healthcare provider.
  • Treatment- If approved, your treatment will continue without any cash deposits till the discharge date.
  • If any additional details are required, then Bajaj Allianz shall ask the same from the hospital and then approve your claim
  • If disapproved, then the same information will be sent to the hospital and you will need to make the payment for treatment on your own.

Claim settlement process for reimbursement of Bajaj Allianz COVID medical insurance

  • Once you are discharged, you need to keep all the documents with you along with medical tests, paying bills etc.
  • Your documents will be verified by the Bajaj Allianz medical insurance team
  • Submit additional documents (if required)
  • The documents can be uploaded online on Caringly Yours App, or courier to their Health Administration Team
  • If submitted timely, the claim is usually processed within 15 days of the intimation date
  • If not submitted on time, then your claim request will be closed within 45 days.

Documents Required for Bajaj Allianz Corona Kavach Claims

For Hospital treatment following documents are required:

  • Claim form duly filled and signed by the insured
  • Doctor’s prescription for hospital admission
  • Original discharge summary
  • Original paid receipts
  • Operation theatre or surgeon’s notes
  • Diagnostic eports
  • Fully filled NEFT details form
  • Copy of Invoice/Stickers/barcode ( if the treatment involved implants)
  • First consultation letter from the doctor
  • KYC form or ID proof of the proposer if the claim amount is above Rs 1 Lakh

For Home Treatment Claims

In case the medical authorities advice treatment at home, submit the following documents to initiate the claim process:

  • A duly filled and signed corona kavach claim form
  • Passport copy or ID proof
  • Doctor’s prescription advising admission
  • A certificate from doctor advising treatment at home with your consent
  • Discharge Certificate from the doctor specifying duration of the treatment with the dates
  • Daily health monitoring chart signed by the treating doctor
