 Only one policy is allowed for one person provided:

Is there Anything that the Policy Does not Cover?

The insurer shall not be liable to make any payment under the following situations-

  • If the claim is filed for any other sickness or illness other than Novel Coronavirus
  • If there is no inpatient hospitalization regardless of whether you are quarantined or not
  • Any claim with respect to COVID infection contracted before the policy commencement date or during the waiting period

Star Novel Coronavirus Policy Claim Procedure is Quick and Simple

You need to submit a duly filled and signed claim form along with all the relevant information, documents, and medical records. The document required but not limited are as given below:

  • Claim form- To register a claim, make sure that you submit a duly signed and completed claim form.
  • Diagnostic test Reports- You also need to submit diagnostic reports from Government authorized centers confirming a positive case of Novel Coronavirus (nCoV) (COVID-19).
  • Last but not least you are required to provide the Star Health and Allied Insurance Company with a copy of your Aadhaar Card or a Government-issued ID proof.

Note: The insurer is not liable to make a payment if the person insured travels overseas during the currency of the Star Novel coronavirus policy

The Insurer shall pay interest as per the IRDAI’S (Protection of Policyholders' Interests) Regulations, 2017 if there is a delay in payment of a claim that has been admitted under this Policy.

  • Tax Benefits:  The insured person is eligible for tax relief u/s 80 D of the IT Act against the premium paid, provided there is no cash payment
  • Renewal:  This policy is available on a pilot basis. And Star Novel coronavirus policy renewal shall be up to the tenure for which the pilot product is open.
