      Star Health and Allied Insurance offer Star Novel Coronavirus (nCoV) (COVID-19) Insurance Policy as a pilot product. The health cover is provided to the people who are COVID positive and are hospitalized for coronavirus treatment. The policy gives sum insured cover of Rs.21, 000/- and Rs.42, 000.

      Note:

      • The policy only pays for hospitalization expense if the diagnosis report is from the Government Authorized Centre
      • The insurer shall cease the policy once the payment is made in a lump sum

      • Coverage Provided- You can avail of the coverage on an individual basis
      • Sum Insured Amount-The policy coverage amount can be Rs.21, 000 and Rs.42, 000
      • Premium Applicable- The policy premium ranges from 299 to Rs.598 (exclusive of GST)
      • Pre-medical Screening- You don’t need to furnish medical records to get insured under star coronavirus policy
      • Waiting Period- 16 days
      • Free-look Period- 15 days
      • Claim Payment- 100% Lump sum cover

       Only one policy is allowed for one person provided:

      • The applicant is within the age band of 18 years and 65 years
      • The dependent children within the age group of 3 months and 25 years can be covered along with any one of the insured parent
      • The policy can be issued on an Individual sum insured basis

      Is there Anything that the Policy Does not Cover?

      The insurer shall not be liable to make any payment under the following situations-

      • If the claim is filed for any other sickness or illness other than Novel Coronavirus
      • If there is no inpatient hospitalization regardless of whether you are quarantined or not
      • Any claim with respect to COVID infection contracted before the policy commencement date or during the waiting period

      Star Novel Coronavirus Policy Claim Procedure is Quick and Simple

      In case you want to file a claim for this policy you check out the procedure given below:

      You need to submit a duly filled and signed claim form along with all the relevant information, documents, and medical records. The document required but not limited are as given below:

      • Claim form- To register a claim, make sure that you submit a duly signed and completed claim form.
      • Diagnostic test Reports- You also need to submit diagnostic reports from Government authorized centers confirming a positive case of Novel Coronavirus (nCoV) (COVID-19).
      • Last but not least you are required to provide the Star Health and Allied Insurance Company with a copy of your Aadhaar Card or a Government-issued ID proof.

      Note: The insurer is not liable to make a payment if the person insured travels overseas during the currency of the Star Novel coronavirus policy

      The Insurer shall pay interest as per the IRDAI’S (Protection of Policyholders' Interests) Regulations, 2017 if there is a delay in payment of a claim that has been admitted under this Policy.

      • Tax Benefits:  The insured person is eligible for tax relief u/s 80 D of the IT Act against the premium paid, provided there is no cash payment
      • Renewal:  This policy is available on a pilot basis. And Star Novel coronavirus policy renewal shall be up to the tenure for which the pilot product is open.
