Claim for cashless and reimbursement hospitalization

There are certain documents one would need to submit with their cashless or reimbursement hospitalization claim.

  • The claim form, duly filled in
  • Star Health ID
  • Consultation papers from the doctor and all papers related to the investigation.
  • Pharmacy bills, hospital bills, medical bills, etc.
  • Discharge summary.

Star Health Insurance has made sure to make their claim process as efficient as possible. They provide constant support through their customer care network to make sure you are not left in the lurch or are lost. The process to make a cashless claim and a reimbursement claim are:

Cashless Claim

  • To take advantage of Star Health’s cashless claim, inform the insurer before 24 hours of unplanned hospitalization and 48 hours of planned hospitalization.
  • Visit a network hospital of Star Health Insurance and show your Star Health ID. Fill up and sign a pre-authorization request.
  • Star Health will appoint a doctor to verify the pre-authorization request and send an approval
  • Once approved, the treatment will start. If the cashless claim is denied, then the patient can get treated and file for reimbursement.

Reimbursement Claim

  • Pay off all the hospital bills at the time of discharge from hospital. Make sure to have all original documents in hand such as discharge summary, prescription, all bills, etc.
  • Submit a reimbursement claim with the documents at the nearest Star Health office. The claim has to be submitted within 30 days post-discharge.
  • After verification and approval, the amount claimed will be sent to the insured.
