TATA AIG Accident Guard Plan

This plan covers all accidental mishaps and uncalled health incidents during one’s life making it a comprehensive policy.

Eligibility:

  • For Self and Spouse Minimum age-18, maximum-65 years, children 6 months to 18 years (23 years for higher Education).

Policy Benefits:

Tata AIG Accident Guard provides cover for the following:

  • Plan 1: Accidental Death & Dismemberment
  • Plan 2: Accidental Death & Dismemberment & Permanent Total Loss of Use(including PTD)
  • Add on Benefit (Optional): Accidental Weekly Benefit (up to 52 weeks)

Family Option:

  • If the plan is taken for family cove,r the following benefits can be availed:
  • Education allowance: 10% of principal sum insured/actual tuition fee of institution whichever is lower, is borne for children’s education in case of accidental death.
  • Repatriation of remains: Repatriation expenses subject to a maximum of Rs. 5,000 are borne.
  • Modification allowance: A maximum of Rs. 1, 00,000 is borne as an expense towards renovation of house or vehicle in case of Permanent Total Disability or Dismemberment.
  • Double Dismemberment benefit: For children who are automatically insured, Dismemberment benefit is doubled.
  • Family transportation: In case of hospitalisation outside 150 kms of residence, expenses of transportation of immediate family member is borne subject to maximum of 50000 INR.

Additional Benefits:

  • Escalation Benefit - The principal is increased by 5% every year subject to no interruption in coverage up to a 25%.

Renewal Benefits

  • Lifelong renewability: No maximum cover ceasing age in this policy
  • Grace Period of 30 days for renewing the policy, waiting periods as mentioned in the policy wording gets reduced by 1 year on every continuous renewal.
  • Sum Insured Enhancement: Any change in benefits or premium (other than due to change in age) will be done with the approval of IRDA and will be intimated at least 3 months in advance at the time of renewal.

Free Look Period:

  • A period of 15 days after date of receipt of policy to review terms and conditions during which insured can cancel it with due refunds.

Portability:

  • If the insured wishes to migrate to another Insurer towards renewal, he can draft an application at least 45 days before the date of renewal.

Exclusions:

  • Expenses due to suicide/ self-inflicted injury, sexually transmitted diseases, mental/nervous disorder, anxiety or depression, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), Human Immune deficiency Virus (HIV) infection
  • Injuries due to involvement in war, invasion or terrorist activity involvement.
  • Participation in winter sports, sky diving, scuba diving or related sport activities.
  • Accidents due to involvement with related to aircraft, or as a member of the crew.
  • Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Exposure to radioactive substances or diseases due to intoxication.
