      Zuno Health Insurance Waiting Period

      Zuno Health Insurance Waiting Period is the time period during which the policyholder cannot file a claim with Zuno General Insurance Limited. It differs for various diseases & surgical procedures and from one Zuno health insurance plan to another. However, the policyholder does not need to serve the initial waiting period to file an accidental claim with the insurance company.

      Types of Zuno Health Insurance Waiting Period

      1. Zuno Health Insurance Initial Waiting Period

        This type of waiting period must be served to file a non-accidental health insurance claim with Zuno General Insurance Limited.

      2. Zuno Health Insurance Specified Disease/Procedure Waiting Period

        Policyholders should serve this waiting period to pay for the cost of specific diseases and procedures, such as osteoarthritis, varicose veins, joint replacement therapy, kidney stones, cataract, etc.

      3. Zuno Health Insurance Pre-existing Disease Waiting Period

        This waiting period needs to be served to cover the medical expenses incurred on the treatment of PED or pre-existing diseases, like high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, etc.

      4. Zuno Health Insurance Maternity Benefit Waiting Period

        The insured must serve this waiting period to claim the maternity cover and pay for the cost of a newborn baby delivery or lawful termination of pregnancy.

      5. Zuno Health Insurance Critical Illness Cover Waiting Period

        This waiting period should be served to cover the medical expenses incurred during the treatment of a critical illness listed under the critical illness insurance policy.

      6. Zuno Health Insurance Diabetes, Hypertension & Cardiac Conditions Waiting Period

        The insured needs to serve this waiting period to pay for the cost of treating diabetes, hypertension, & cardiac conditions and their complications.

      7. Zuno Health Insurance Infertility Treatment Waiting Period

        This type of waiting period must be served to cover the cost of undergoing an infertility treatment by the insured.

      8. Zuno Health Insurance Major Medical Illness and Procedures Waiting Period

        Policyholders should serve this waiting period to pay for the cost of treating a major medical illness or undergoing a major procedure.

      9. Zuno Health Insurance Loss of Job Cover Waiting Period

        This type of waiting period needs to be served to claim the loss of job cover so that the insurance company pays for up to three loan EMIs of the insured.

      10. Zuno Health Insurance Surrogacy Cover Waiting Period

        Policyholders must serve this waiting period to cover the in-patient treatment expenses of a surrogate mother.

      11. Zuno Health Insurance Pre-existing Disability Cover Waiting Period

        This waiting period should be served to pay for the medical expenses resulting from a pre-existing disability of the insured.

      Yes. The waiting period for pre-existing diseases can be reduced or even waived off under the Zuno Health Top Up Insurance and Zuno HealthPlus plans. However, these benefits are available by paying an additional premium only.

      Policyholders must remember the following things about the Zuno health insurance waiting period:

      • The Zuno initial waiting period is not required to be served to file a claim for accidental hospitalization of the insured.
      • If a disease or illness is diagnosed after purchasing the Zuno health insurance policy, it will not be considered pre-existing by the insurer.
      • Policyholders get the option to reduce the pre-existing disease waiting period under some mediclaim policies by paying an extra premium amount.
      • The insured must serve the waiting period and the survival period to claim the critical illness cover.
