The Department of Women & Child Development, Government of Puducherry, launched the "Balika Samrithi Yojana" to improve the status of girls and give them access to wholesome meals. Balika Samrithi Yojana is one of the Government schemes for girl child. This scheme provides financial support to the lactating mother of a girl child with a National Savings Certificate worth ₹500 for assistance.
Check the list of eligibility criteria that must be fulfilled to qualify for this scheme:
The candidate must be a girl born on or after August 15, 1997.
The applicant's family's annual income should not be more than ₹15,000.
The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
The candidate must be a native of Puducherry, a Union Territory, by birth or have lived there continuously for at least three years.
Applicants can apply for the scheme using either an offline or online process, ensuring that those seeking to benefit from the scheme experience minimal inconvenience. However, any marriage proposal must be submitted before the actual marriage date.

Step 1: The interested individual should go to the Department of Women and Child Development's Office or Sub-Office during business hours and ask the staff members. They are solely responsible for issuing and gathering completed applications for a hard copy of the application form in the specified format.

The interested party should print the application form in the format specified.
Step 2: Complete the application form by filling in all the needed fields, attaching copies of all the required documents (self-attest if necessary), and pasting the passport-sized photo (signed across, if needed).
Step 3: At least 30 days before the intended marriage date, deliver the properly completed and signed application form and the necessary paperwork to the Child Development Project Officer or the Deputy Director (Women Development), depending on the area.
Step 4: Ask the relevant authority to whom the application has been filed for a receipt or acknowledgment. Ensure the receipt has all the pertinent information, including the submission date and time and, if necessary, a unique identification number.
Step 1: Go to the official website of the Puducherry government's e-District Portal.
Step 2: Click "Login" in the upper right corner of the homepage. Click "Register a New Membership" on the login screen.
Step 3: Fill out the Username, Password, Confirm Password, and Personal Details (Full Name, First Name, Email Address, Address, Current Address, Gender, Date of Birth, and Mobile Number) sections on the Registration Page. Accept the statement. After entering the Captcha Code, select "Signup".
Step 4: Go to the official website of the Puducherry government's e-District Portal.
Step 5: Click "Login" in the upper right corner of the homepage. Enter your username and password, complete the Captcha code, and then click "Sign In" on the login screen.
Step 6: A department-by-department list of the Puducherry government's schemes will appear on the following screen.
Step7: Select the program you want to apply for. It will direct you to the online application.
Step 8: Complete the application form by filling in all required fields (highlighted with a red asterisk) and uploading all the necessary files (self-attestation if needed).
Step 9: Check the box next to "To the best of my knowledge, I hereby declare that the above-mentioned details are true and correct." In order to track your application, submit the application and make a note of the application number. You will also receive the application number on your registered email address and mobile phone.

To apply for Government schemes for girl child, the applicant needs to prove his identity, residence, and income, as well as the following related documents:
The Aadhaar card.
The Revenue Department's Residence Certificate.
The Revenue Department's Income Certificate.
Photograph the size of a passport.
Declaration or Agreement (if any).
A municipal or commune birth certificate.
If the applicant does not have an Aadhar Card, they must submit their Aadhaar Enrollment ID and ONE of the following documents:
Passbook with photo from bank or post office.
The PAN Card or Permanent Account Number.
A passport.
A ration card.
Voter Identity Card.
The MGNREGA card.
Kisan photo passbook.
A driver's license granted under the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 (59 of 1988) by the Licensing Authority.
An identity certificate with the person's photo provided on official letterhead and issued by a Tehsildar or Gazetted Officer.
Any additional document that the Department designates.
The Balika Samrithi Yojana is a noble effort by the Puducherry government to provide the girls with financial support, further helping to enhance their overall well-being in society.
