Liberty General Insurance Introduces Liberty Critical Illnesses Policy Upto Rs 1 Crore

Liberty General Insurance Company has launched a critical illness insurance policy namely, ‘Liberty Connect’ that coves up to 60 critical illnesses. The minimum sum insured under this policy is Rs 1 Lakh that can go up to a maximum of Rs 1 Crore. It is a comprehensive critical illness policy that can offer health insurance coverage for both minor and major medical conditions including cancer, kidney failure, organ or heart transplant, brain surgery, head trauma/injury, multiple sclerosis, and blindness among others.

Liberty Critical Connect health insurance plan has been launched keeping in view the rising cost of treatment even in India and to ensure the financial well-being of the people.  The policy will enable customers in managing medical expenses incurred on the treatment of critical illnesses. The sum insured amount is paid in a lump sum to the customer upon diagnosis of listed critical illness as covered under this health insurance policy. The policy can be purchased by anyone between the age group of 18 years and up to 65 years.

Types of Liberty Critical Connect Plans

There are two types of variants of Liberty Critical Connect health insurance plans that the customer can choose from:

  • Liberty Critical Connect Plan A- Under this variant of Liberty, the applicant can choose to get health insurance cover for 9, 25, or 43 critical illnesses.
  • Liberty Critical Connect Plan B- The Plan B variant offers disease-specific cover such as Cancer Protect, Heart Protect, Brain Protect, and the likewise.

Features and benefits of Liberty General’s Critical Connect Policy

Liberty General’s Critical Connect Policy has been designed to provide a special range of benefits to ensure comprehensive health protection the policyholders:

  • Sum Insured: The policy offers a wider range of sum insured options from Rs. 1 Lakh to Rs 1 Crore that can be useful in covering almost all the treatment-related expenses
  • Age Criteria: Individuals between the age group of 18 years and up to 65 years can get insured under this plan
  • Critical Illness Cover: Another important feature is that the Liberty Critical Connect policy can cover up to 60 critical illnesses including HIV/AIDS related illnesses
  • Subsequent Illnesses Cover: It will also cover two additional subsequent unrelated critical illnesses during the policyholder’s lifetime
  • Optional Waiver of Survival Period Benefit: One of the best features of Critical Connect policy is that it also offers an optional benefit to waive off the survival period of 30 days that the policyholder has to serve after the diagnosis of critical Illness to avail the coverage benefits
  • Optional Loan Protector Cover: The policy also pays for the policyholder’s EMIs upon diagnosis of any of the listed critical illness
  • In-House Claim Settlement: The insured person can avail easier, faster, and hassle-free in-house claim settlement benefits
  • Tax Benefits: The premium paid on this policy is eligible for tax benefits under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act

Additional Benefits under Liberty General’s Critical Connect Policy

The policy also offers an additional benefit for the second medical opinion cover where the insurer will arrange and pay-off the cost of second medical opinion consultation from its panel of doctors. Moreover, the policyholder will be entitled to a medical check-up facility every two years of the policy term.

Lastly, there is a Health 360° feature under the Liberty Critical Connect Policy, and the policyholder can avail discounts on outpatient consultations, diagnostic tests, pharmaceuticals through their empaneled, network providers, they can also avail integrated healthcare services such as disease management, health risk assessment, health coach, and Wellness programs that too free of cost.

Amid the increasing cost of healthcare and the growing vulnerability to life-threatening medical conditions, having comprehensive health insurance protection is essential.
