      Any eligible person can opt for the Individual coverage option to buy Reliance Critical Illness plan, which covers 10 Critical Illnesses. Some of the basic coverage that the policy offers are as follows:

      • In-patient Treatment Cover-All hospitalization expenses, including charges for room rent, boarding, nursing, ICU, diagnostic tests, physician charges, drugs, blood, oxygen, and equipment charges, are covered up to sum insured.
      • Pre-hospitalization Cover- Pre hospitalization expenses are covered
      • Post- hospitalization Cover- Post hospitalization expenses are covered for the diseases and illnesses mentioned, up to the sum insured.
      • Organ Donor-Organ donor expenses, excluding the prices of organs, are covered by the Policy.
      • NCB Benefits-If there has been no claim made for the first year, then there will be a bonus of 5%. There is also a 10% no claim bonus on a cumulative basis for each claim-free year for a 3-year term, up to a maximum of 50%.

      Inclusions of the Plan

      Some of the inclusions other than the basic coverage of Reliance Critical Illness policy are as follows:

      Emergency Ambulance Charges- Emergency and domestic on-road ambulance expenses are covered for the diseases mentioned.

      Critical Illness Benefit- The insured is provided with the coverage for many critical illnesses, where the expenses of such treatments are divided into two categories:

      Category 1

      • Cancer of specified severity
      • Multiple Sclerosis
      • Aorta Graft Surgery
      • Third Degree Burns
      • Major Organ / Bone Marrow Transplant

      Category 2

      • Open Heart Replacement Surgery or Repair of Valves
      • Quadriplegia / Permanent Paralysis of all four limbs
      • Total Blindness
      • Coma of Specified Severity
      • Kidney Failure with Regular Dialysis

       

      Exclusions of the Plan

      Some diseases, illnesses, and conditions have been excluded from the policy plan of Reliance Critical Illness Policy. They are as follows:

      • Any pre-existing diseases that existed before the inception of the policy are excluded.
      • All critical illnesses within 3 months of the policy inception are not covered
      • Diagnosis or treatment by unproven methods is excluded.
      • Congenital illness, be it internal or external is not covered.
      • HIV/AIDS remains out from the list of inclusion.
      • Any injury caused due to war violence or nuclear weapons is not covered.

      Features & Benefits of the Reliance Critical Illness Health Insurance Policy

      Given below are the main features and benefits of the Reliance Critical Illness Health Insurance Policy:

      • The Policy has a duration of one and three years.
      • There are no medical tests up to 45 years.
      • There is a 30 days waiting period to avail this policy, followed by a survival period of 30/60 days upon detection of the illness.
      • This premium paid under this Policy is eligible for tax savings under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act 1961.

      The minimum eligibility terms to avail this policy are as mentioned below:

      · For 7 lakh cover:  60 years

      · For 10 lakh cover:  55 years

      Cancellation of the Policy

      For some reason, the policyholder wants to cancel the Reliance Critical Illness Health Insurance Policy. If so, one must give a 15 days' notice to the company.

      There will be a 75% refund if it is within one month of the first year, 50% within 3 months and 25% within the first 6 months.

      The insurer can also cancel the Policy if the policyholder on the grounds of fraud, misrepresentation and concealment of correct medical information.
