Postal Life Insurance was started in 1884 to offer insurance coverage at affordable premiums to postal department employees. It was the first insurer in the country to extend coverage to female employees. Over time, its policies were offered to employees engaged in nearly every sector. PLI’s current insurance schemes include whole life insurance, endowment-based life insurance, joint life insurance, and child insurance. In 1995, PLI extended its coverage to the rural population of India to provide insurance benefits to the lower-income strata of the society. Therefore, this plan does not apply to employees working in the private sector.
There are 6 PLI schemes:
Whole Life Insurance
Endowment Assurance
Convertible Whole Life Assurance
Joint Life Assurance
Children Policy
Anticipated Endowment Assurance
The premiums for the PLI policies can be paid regularly online every month. In addition, the policy's PLI statement is available online after 1 day (24 hours) whenever you make an online premium payment. This PLI online payment statement is easily available on the PLI platform or the mobile application.
Online PLI statements provide a range of benefits to the policyholders:
Helps the policyholder to access their policy
