      Heart Surgery

      Heart diseases are among the most dangerous conditions. Thankfully, medicines and surgeries can provide relief to a great extent. Star Cardiac Care Insurance Policy has been specially designed to cover several cardiac-related surgeries such as heart transplantation, CABG, and other procedures. Other plans covering heart surgery include Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy, and Star Criticare Plus Insurance Policy.

      On average, heart surgeries can cost anywhere from Rs. 1.9 to Rs. 7.9 lakhs. Star health insurance plans offer a varying sum insured ranging from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh. The waiting period ranges from 90 days to 24 months as per the plan variant opted.

      Cataract Surgery

      One of the most common surgeries in India, cataract surgeries are carried out to restore a person’s vision.

      The surgery can cost anywhere between Rs. 50,000 and 1 lakh and is covered by several Star health insurance plans including Star Family Health Optima Insurance Plan, Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy, and Star Super Surplus (Floater) Insurance Policy. Depending on the plan, you can avail of benefits as per the sum insured opted, ranging from Rs 2 lakh and more. The surgery has a waiting period of 24 months.

      Kidney Removal Surgery

      Also called lithotripsy, this surgery consists of breaking down large kidney stones using a ureter scope.

      It is covered under several plans including Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy, Star True Value Health Insurance Policy, Super Surplus Insurance Policy, and more. The waiting period for this surgery is 24 months and can cost around 1 lakh to 2 lakhs. Sum insured of the plans ranges from 2 lakhs to 7 lakh depending if it's an individual plan or a family floater.

      Knee Replacement Surgery

      Also known as knee arthroplasty, this surgery is required in case of excruciating pain due to arthritis or rheumatism. The surgery can cost anywhere between Rs. 2 lakhs and 9 lakhs and is covered by many Star health insurance plans under different sum insured.

      Some plans covering this surgery include Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy, Star Family Health Optima Insurance Plan, and Star Criticare Plus Insurance Policy. The waiting period for joint replacement surgery is 24 months.

      Liver Transplant Surgery

      This surgery is required when a malfunctioning/ dead liver must be replaced by a healthier one. Many Star health insurance plans provide coverage for sum insured ranging between Rs. 5 lakhs and as high as 1 crore. Some plans covering liver transplantation include Star Medi classic Insurance Policy (Individual), Star Criticare Plus Insurance Policy, and Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy. The waiting period of liver transplant surgery is 90 days to 24 months depending on the plan you purchase.

      Brain Surgery

      Brain surgeries or neurosurgeries are required to treat many issues including, clots, tumours, epilepsy and more. These include biopsy, craniotomy, deep brain stimulation and cost anywhere between 2.5 lakh to 14.6 lakh.

      Some Star health insurance plans covering brain surgeries include Star Critical Illness Multipay Insurance Policy, Star Criticare Plus Insurance Policy, Star True Value Health Insurance Policy, etc. with sum insured ranging from 3 lakhs and 25 lakhs, depending on the plan. The waiting period ranges from 90 days to 24 months as per the purchased policy.

      Robotic Surgery

      Robot-assisted surgeries are required to perform complex procedures where more flexibility and precision is required. These can cost around 1.4 lakh to 11 lakh depending on the procedure. These are covered by many plans including Star True Value Health Insurance Policy, Star Comprehensive Insurance Policy, Star Super Surplus (Floater) Insurance Policy with the sum insured varying from 5 lakhs to 1 crore. The waiting period under Robotic Surgery is 30 days.

      Hip Replacement Surgery

      This surgery is carried out to replace the painful hip joint with an artificial one and costs around 3.8 lakh to 6.3 lakh. Many Star health insurance plans offer coverage for this surgery, including Senior Citizens Red Carpet Health Insurance Policy, Star True Value Health Insurance Policy, Family Health Optima Insurance Plan. The coverage varies as per the opted sum insured. Depending on your plan, the sum insured can range from Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 25 lakhs with a waiting period of 24 months.
